ABOUT THE WPTCO

The Welches Parent Teacher Community Organization (WPTCO) is a passionate and engaged group of parents, teachers, and community members dedicated to enhancing the educational experience for approximately 300 K-8 students at Welches Schools. Our mission is to foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that empowers every child to reach their full potential.

At WPTCO, we are committed to:

• Promoting Educational Excellence: We strive to enrich the academic journey by hosting family-friendly events like community movie nights, the annual auction fundraiser, and supporting school events such as the annual harvest festival, middle school dances, book fairs, field day, and teacher & staff appreciation. These initiatives provide resources, tools, and opportunities that supplement and elevate the standard curriculum.

• Building Community Connections: We actively cultivate a sense of unity among parents, teachers, and students through various committee and chair positions for engaging events and fundraisers throughout the year. This fosters open communication and collaboration, creating a supportive educational community.

• Funding Vital Initiatives: Responsibly managing and allocating funds, we bridge gaps in the school budget, supporting the acquisition of essential supplies, innovative technology, and additional resources requested by teachers and staff.

• Supporting Enriching Programs: We champion a well-rounded education by financially contributing to class field trips, hosting guest speakers, promoting arts programs, and encouraging positive behavior incentives.

• Empowering Parental Involvement: We actively encourage and facilitate parental participation in school activities, ensuring that the voices and perspectives of parents are integral to the decision-making processes.
